Jose left Santa Cruz, Tenerife in 29 Oct 1778 sailing on the San Ignacio de Loyola and landed in New Orleans on Jan 9, 1779 with his wife Maria and daughter Catalina.[1]   They resided at the Galveztown Settlement. 

Jose is listed in the libro maestro, likely receiving rations in Galveztown in 1779.[12]   On July 16, 1782, Jose is shown listed as "Joseph Bermudez" in another list receiving raciones (rations).[13]  He is listed in land claims made in 1832 represented in a US township map.[7]  In 1804, shortly after American possession, he is listed in the Galveztown census.[6]  

Jose's name is listed as Josef Bermudes and her name is listed as Maria Ramires in the baptism of their daughter Maria del Pino.[7]  He is listed as Joseph Bermudez from Valle de los Nueves, Gran Canaria and she is listed as Maria Ramos from El Carrizal, Gran Canaria in the marriage investigation of their daughter Maria del Pino.,[9 10]  She is listed as Maria Hidalgo in the baptism of their son Joseph Antonio.[2]

In 1803, Maria continued to reside in Galveztown on the corner of St. Mark St and Claiborne St.[5]   

NOTE: In the Galveztown census of 1804, a Maria Bermudez is listed with one daughter.  This is likely Jose's wife, Maria, with one of her daughters still living with her.   Or, this could be either Maria Del Pino or her last daughter Maria with one of their daughters.[6]  

Maria is listed in land claims made in 1832 represented in a township map.[4]

Daughter Maria del Pino was born October 26, 1782 at the Galveztown settlement.[2,7,11]  She married Joseph Sanchez, son of Juan Sanchez and Francisca Masias, on December 30th, 1798 at the Galveztown settlement.[2,9] 

Daughter Catherina Antonia was born March 27, 1786 at the Galveztown settlement.[2,8,11]  She married Miguel Masias, son of Luis Macias and Tomasa de Borges, on May 28, 1801 at the Galveztown settlement.[2]  

Son Joseph Antonio was born February 14, 1791 and baptized February 16, 1791 at the Galveztown settlement.[2]  He died after 3 days and was buried February 17, 1791 at the Galveztown settlement.[2]   

Daughter Marguerita Antonia was born February 23, 1792 and baptized March 3, 1792 at the Galveztown settlement.[2]   

Daughter Maria Candelaria married Pablo Augustin Capitan, son of Jose Agustin Capitan and Isabel Garcia, on September 30, 1805 at the Galveztown settlement.[3]  He is also listed as "Pedro Augustino" and "Pierre" in church records. Her parents are listed in the baptism of their son Joseph Augustino Severo.[3]  They continued to have children in Baton Rouge after 1810.

Jose married Isabel Morales Sambrana, daughter of Gregorio Morales Viera and Antonia Macías Déniz, on August 18, 1767 at the Church of San Sebastián in Agüimes, Gran Canaria.[6]  

Jose left Santa Cruz, Tenerife in 29 Oct 1778 sailing on the San Ignacio de Loyola and landed in New Orleans on Jan 9, 1779 with his wife Isabel and children Gregorio, Francisca and Juan.[1]   The family arrived at the Barataria settlement by July 20, 1779.[7] 

The Barataria settlers suffered great hardships and many requested to leave for other nearby Isleño settlements in Louisiana. Jose and his family were living in Barataria receiving raciones (rations).[7]  By December 1779, the family left Barataria and resided at the Valenzuela settlement.   On December 15, 1779, Jose is listed in the Valenzuela libro maestro / cargo list index receiving raciones (rations).[10]  

Jose and Isabel are listed in the Spanish census of 1788 along Bayou Lafourche next to Pedro Caballero and Juan de Aleman.[8]  Jose died and was buried on March 27, 1815 in Donaldsonville, Louisiana.[3]  Isabel died May 18, 1800 and was buried May 19, 1800.[2]

Son Gregorio married Louisa Hernandez, daughter of Bartolome Hernandez and Isabel Mendez, on July 28, 1800 at the Church of the Ascension of Our Lord Jesus Christ in the Valenzuela settlement.[2]  They continued to have children at the Valenzuela settlement. He died and buried October 1, 1827 in Donaldsonville.[9]  

Son Francisco married Maria Diaz, daughter of Antonio Diaz and Maria Truxillo, at the Church of the Ascension of Our Lord Jesus Christ in the Valenzuela settlement.[2]  They continued to have children at the Valenzuela settlement.

NOTE:  Francisco is not listed on the ship list.  It is possible that Francisca, listed as a daughter, was transcribed erroneously.

Son Juan married Maria Hernandez, daughter of Bartolome Hernandez and Isabel Mendez, on July 28, 1800 at the Church of the Ascension of Our Lord Jesus Christ in the Valenzuela settlement.[2]  They continued to have children at the Valenzuela settlement.  He died and was buried on September 6, 1811 in Donaldsonville, Louisiana.[3]  

Son Joseph married Philippa Rodriguez, daughter of Ferdinand Rodriguez and Maria Perera, on October 19, 1807 at the Church of the Ascension of Our Lord Jesus Christ in the Valenzuela settlement.[3] They continued to have children at the Valenzuela settlement.

Gaspar married Marie Francisca Martin de Nis, daughter of Juan de Nis and Juana Martin, on September 30, 1773 at San Juan Bautista de Telde Church.7  His son Juan Antonio was born September 24, 1774 and baptized October 1, 1774 at San Juan Bautista de Telde Church.10  

Gaspar left Santa Cruz, Tenerife in 29 Oct 1778 sailing on the San Ignacio de Loyola and landed in New Orleans on Jan 9, 1779 with his wife Marie Francisca Denis and children Juan Antonio and Miguel.1   He resided at the Valenzuela settlement.  

Gaspar was shown on the Lafourche des Chitimachas, Spanish census in 1788, 1789, 1791, and 1798.8  He is mentioned in the 1810 US census in Ascension.  Between 1780 and 1811, he bought and sold land to others such as Pierre Ayraud and Juan Truxillo.  Gaspard died and was buried on July 24, 1812.9  

Francisca's name can be found listed as "Francisca Denis" and "Francisca Matheo".2,3

Son Miguel married Ana Diaz, daughter of Antonio Diaz and Maria Truxillo, on August 14, 1809 at the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church at the Valenzuela settlement.2  He died and was buried on November 14, 1815 at the Valenzuela settlement.3  

Son Anselmo was born November 17, 1779 in the Valenzuela settlement and baptized November 23, 1779 at the Church of the Ascension of Our Lord Jesus Christ.  He died and was buried January 22, 1800 in the Valenzuela settlement.2  

Daughter Maria married Juan Truxillo, son of Domingo Truxillo and Catalina Dominguez, June 17, 1799, at the Church of the Ascension of Our Lord Jesus Christ in the Valenzuela settlement.2  

Daughter Rosalia was born about 1788 at the Valenzuela settlement and baptized August 31, 1788 at the Church of the Ascension of Our Lord Jesus Christ.2  She married Antonio Rendon, son of Miguel Rendon and Dominga Pacheco of Los Angeles Parish, Mexico, on April 19, 1813 at the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Plattenville, LA.3  

Son Hermenexildo was born May 15, 1790 at the Valenzuela settlement and baptized May 23, 1790 at the Church of the Ascension of Our Lord Jesus Christ.2  He married Sebastiana Maria de la Nieves Navarro, daughter of Pablo Navarro and Maria Acosta of La Mancha, Spain, on April 19, 1813 at the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Plattenville, LA.3   His name is also listed as Hermenegildo, Ermenegilde, and Merilde in various church records.  

Son Francisco was born July 18, 1792 at the Valenzuela settlement and baptized July 28, 1792 at the Church of the Ascension of Our Lord Jesus Christ.2  It is believed he served in the War of 1812 in Narcisse Landry's company. 

NOTE: Compiler Albert J. Robichaux has two children, Mariane and Andrea, shown in the Gaspar Falcon family.  These two names seem to be mis-transcribed from the Spanish census of 1791 and most likely were part of  the Andres de Vega family.8

Manuel married Juana Francisca Dominguez, daughter of Felipe Francisco Hernandez and Clara Francisca Dominguez, on May 20, 1759 at Our Lady of the Conception in Realejo de Abajo, Tenerife.[7,16] Manuel and Juana were given a dispensation by the bishop in 1759 for the 4th degree consanguinity deriving from blood relatives in two ancestral lines.  His son Felipe Jacob, born may 14, 1764 died before the family left for Louisiana and was buried September 8, 1768 in Icod el Alto.

Son Antonio was born July 19, 1759 in Icod el Alto, Tenerife and baptized on July 29, 1759 at Our Lady of the Conception in Realejo de Abajo, Tenerife.[5]  He married Maria de Franques, daughter of Antonio de Franques and Margarita Perera.  They had children at the Valenzuela settlement.  He is listed in the 1782 and 1788, 1789, 1791, 1795, 1798 Spanish censuses of Lafourche.[10]  He died and was buried on November 1, 1807 in Plattenville.[12]   

Son Agustin was born August 28, 1761 in Icod el Alto, Tenerife and baptized on September 5, 1761 at Our Lady of the Conception in Realejo de Abajo, Tenerife.[6]  He married Lorenza Gonzales Carbo, daughter of Juan Francisco Gonzales Carbo and Andrea Augustina Ruiz.  They had children at the Valenzuela settlement.  He is listed in the 1782 and 1788, 1789, 1791, 1795, 1798 Spanish censuses of Lafourche.[10]   Agustin remarried Victorie Hebert, daughter of Pierre Hebert and Emelie Bourgeois, on May 14, 1807 at The Church of the Ascension of Our Lord Jesus Christ in Donaldsonville, Louisiana.11  He died and was buried in Plattenville, Louisiana on August 31, 1817.[9]  

Daughter Maria Luisa was born May 9, 1767 in Icod el Alto, Tenerife and baptized on May 24, 1767 at Our Lady of the Conception in Realejo de Abajo, Tenerife.[7]  She married Antonio Domingo Truxillo, son of Domingo Truxillo and Catalina Maria Dominguez of La Gomera, on August 30, 1784 at the Valenzuela settlement.[15]  They had children at the Valenzuela settlement.  She died September 27, 1833 and was buried on September 28, 1833 at the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church at the Valenzuela settlement.[13]  

Son Jose was born March 27, 1774 in Icod el Alto, Tenerife and baptized on April 15, 1774 at Our Lady of the Conception in Realejo de Abajo, Tenerife.[8]    He died and was buried on February 23, 1811 in Donaldsonville.[14]

Cristobal left Santa Cruz, Tenerife in 29 Oct 1778 sailing on the San Ignacio de Loyola and landed in New Orleans on Jan 9, 1779 with his wife Josepha Denis and children Cathalina, Antonia, and his sister-in-law Antonia Martin Denis.1   He resided at the Valenzuela settlement.  

NOTE: Immediately after arriving, records show he buried an unnamed son at the Ascension church.   This is believed to be Antonio Joseph.  It's quite possible he died on route or shortly after arriving at the Valenzuela settlement.2  The ship list mistakenly lists him as a "girl" with the name "Antonia".

He was shown on the Lafourche des Chitimachas census in 1788 and 1789.  In 1789 he owned 3 arpents of land on the river, however by 1803, he was shown to have owned 6 arpents of land on the river.4,6,7,8,10   His listed as being "over a hundred years old" on his death certificate, however, this is incorrect.5     

His name can be found spelled in numerous was such as Cristoval and Christophe.

Daughter Cathalina married Joseph Joachim Ruiz, son of Augustin Ruiz and Maria Josephe Quirino of Palmas, Gran Canaria, at the Valenzuela settlement on December 29, 1791.2 

Son Miguel was born in 1780 at the Valenzuela settlement.6  He married Maria Francisca Dominguez, daughter of Antoine Vicente Dominguez and Maria (de) Franquez, at the Valenzuela settlement on October 3, 1803.2  He was buried August 16, 1819.3  

Daughter Juana was born in 1786 at the Valenzuela settlement.2  She married Antoine Sanchez, son of Pierre Sanchez and Maria Hernandez, in Valenzuela on May 27, 1802.2  Antoine died and buried in Plattenville on July 28, 1809.3  Jauna remarried Antonio del Pino, son of Joseph del Pino and Andrea Romero, (former settlers of the Galveztown settlement, living in Baton Rouge,) at the Valenzuela settlement on October 21, 1811.3  

Son Domingo was born and baptized in 1794 at the Valenzuela settlement.6  He married Marie Dominguez, daughter of Antoine Vicente Dominguez and Maria (de) Franquez, at the Valenzuela settlement on September 5, 1808.3
